ASTM International continued its support of area fire companies with donations to the George Clay Fire Company in West Conshohocken, Pa. The donations were used by George Clay to purchase a new battery powered Jaws of Life, and wet suits for the crew.

According to Dennis Frankenfield, chief of George Clay Fire Company, the purchases were made to upgrade the tools on the rescue truck. “The upgraded tools will be a great enhancement,” he says. The Jaws of Life will provide better spreading power and more mobility for fire crew during vehicle rescues, and the wet suits will give protection to the crew during water operations and flood rescues.

Along with the two new pieces of equipment, George Clay also used the donation to purchase new boots and gloves for the crew.
