David Spenciner, research fellow for DePuy Synthes Mitek Sports Medicine, in Raynham, Massachusetts, USA, has received the Patrick G. Laing Award from ASTM International’s committee on medical and surgical materials and devices (F04).
The committee recognized Spenciner for his significant and outstanding contributions in the field of medical and surgical devices. Spenciner has been a member of ASTM International since 1998 and currently co-chairs the subcommittee on spinal devices (F04.25) and chairs the finance subcommittee (F04.94).
Spenciner, has been serving Mitek Sports Medicine since 2010 and has held various positions of increasing responsibility within the R&D department. He holds a bachelor’s degree in materials engineering from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, New York, USA, a master’s degree in bioengineering from Brown University in Providence RI, USA, and a master’s degree in health sector management from Boston University, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
Aside from being a member of ASTM International, Spenciner is a society fellow at ASM International and an active member of the Clinical Orthopaedic Society.
