Ronald L. Kelly, a forensic consultant, has received the Forensic Science Award from ASTM International Committee E30 on Forensic Sciences.
The committee noted Kelly’s continuous and outstanding contributions to the development of standards on forensic sciences as well as excellence in leadership of Subcommittee E30.01 on Criminalistics.
Kelly, from Woodbridge, Va., previously served as a forensic lead for Bode Cellmark Forensics and a supervisory chemist for the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation from 1978 to 2012. He specializes in consulting on explosives and fire-investigation cases.
Outside of ASTM, Kelly is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the International Association of Arson Investigators. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Maryland.
