Maarten van Wijnkoop, Ph.D., senior technology manager chemistry, at URENCO Central Technology Group, Bad Bentheim, Germany, has received the Harlan J. Anderson Award for his outstanding contributions to ASTM International Committee C26 on Nuclear Fuel Cycle.

A member of ASTM since 2006, van Wijnkoop received the C26 Award of Appreciation in 2009.

Van Wijnkoop holds a master’s degree inorganic chemistry and a doctorate in organometallic chemistry from the University of Amsterdam. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Sussex, United Kingdom, before joining URENCO Nederland in Almelo, the Netherlands, in 1997 as a process development engineer. He was promoted to head of Chemistry Services in 2001 and assumed his current role in the URENCO Central Technology Group in 2011.

Outside ASTM, van Wijnkoop is a member of Koninklijk Instituut voor Ingenieurs Kerntechniek,
Koninklijke Nederlandse Chemische Vereniging and the Netherlands Nuclear Society.
