Navigate to your chosen program on the ASTM website and click Register. You will be directed to the Certemy to either create a new account or log in to your pre-existing account.

Upon completing registration, you will be assigned to the certification phase ‘Initial Application’ or ‘Recertification’ as appropriate.

Complete the step 'Registrant Information' for the certification program within Certemy. Click through each step to complete registration and submit payment using Stripe.

The scheduling of your exam takes place outside of the Certemy platform and is handled using the exam platform, Questionmark.

• You will be scheduled for your exam and receive notification of such a minimum of one (1) week before your exam.
• The schedule is based on your choice of month as selected in the step for Registrant Information.
• A username will be created for you and log in details sent to the email address on file for you with Certemy.

Upon scheduling, you will receive two emails. One will be regarding account creation and will contain information on how to access your account in Questionmark.

After logging into Questionmark, navigate to the tab, 'My Assessments'. You should see a list of your scheduled assessments. Under 'Actions', click on the 'Play' symbol. This will start the exam. You will need to complete the exam in one sitting.

ASTM utilizes the Proctorio Record and Review proctoring solution. Participants will need to meet the following system requirements: 

• An internet connection 
• Google Chrome and the Proctorio Chrome extension 
• A webcam 
• A microphone 

Participants will need to install the Chrome Proctorio extension which allows for screen recording. Please note that participants will be prompted to install the extension and go through a series of checks after they click on their scheduled assessment in the Questionmark platform. The pre-check phase includes disabling any additional monitors and closing any additional web tabs. 

After the pre-check phase, participants will be prompted to present identification and will then proceed through a webcam image test. 

After all checks have been completed, participants will be shown an Exam Agreement screen and will need to click to indicate that they accept before proceeding to the Introduction screen for the exam.

After successful completion of the exam, you will need to return to Certemy to complete the 'Certification Exam' step.

This step requires the submission of your username for the Questionmark exam platform and the date of your exam.

In order to have your Supervisor or Manager complete the required performance logs, you will need to scroll to the bottom of the performance evaluation log form for each test method to invite them to complete the form on their behalf.

After you have invited your Supervisor/Manager to complete the performance logs on your behalf, they will receive an invitation email from Certemy. Clicking on it and accepting the invitation will then add you as a 'Professional' to their list for completion of the performance logs.

Ensure that your Supervisor or Manager logs into their Supervisor account in Certemy if they have more than one account.

If the written exam requirements of achieving 70% overall score and 60% for each standard were not met, another attempt can be scheduled by contacting credentialing@astm.org.
