ASTM International’s geosynthetics committee (D35) has presented its 2025 L. David Suits Award to Abigail Gilson.
The award is given for exemplary technical, practical or administrative contributions resulting in a significant leap-forward of geosynthetics knowledge, testing equipment or products.
Gilson was recognized for her nearly 25-year career in civil engineering, with a focus on electrical leak location testing. She has published more than three dozen technical papers in the field, and since joining ASTM in 2012, has served as technical lead on task groups for revisions and additions to relevant standards.
Gilson received her master of science in civil/environmental engineering from University of California at Davis in 2010.
