ASTM International’s Committee on Soil and Rock (D18) has presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to Jeanne M. Asquith, of 3rd Rock, LLC., in East Aurora, New York, U.S.A. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.

The committee honored Asquith for her endless dedication and enthusiasm to improve and promote the cooperation of other organizations and committees that are involved with soil and rock testing. Asquith has been a member of ASTM International since 1990, and has previously received the Standards Development Award (1998), the A. Ivan Johnson Outstanding Achievement Award (2008), the Laboratory Participants Award (2010), the Richard S. Ladd Standards Development Award (2014), and the Woodland G. Shockley Memorial Award (2015), all from the committee on soil and rock.

Asquith has served as president of 3rd Rock, LLC since 2007. In addition to ASTM, Asquith is a member of the Buffalo Association of Professional Geologists and the American Institute of Professional Geologists.
