Rationale

C666 was withdrawn due to unresolved negatives that pushed the standard beyond the eight year review period required by ASTM. The standard is balloted here for reinstatement with revisions in order to get it back on the books and to include the standard caveats required by the ASTM Form & Style Manual. Additional changes were made that are listed in the Summary of Changes Section. This standard test method underwent an extensive review with many changes which have been balloted several times over the past couple years. The last Main/Subcommittee ballot resulted in many negatives and comments that require much additional work. That work will be taken up as old business at the next subcommittee meeting in June 2024. Only text shown as being revised using “track changes” is subject to ballot. Non-altered text is presented for context only and is not subject to ballot. Negative votes related to non-altered text will be treated as “Not Related” and taken up as New Business.
