Rationale

The C1783 guideline for C-C Composite Specifications was published in 2015. A recent review along with historical comments has pointed out several sections in need of clarification and updating. This ballot offers four ballot items with technical additions and clarifications to four sections – a new Section on test methods for carbon-carbon composites, Section 8 Physical Property Requirements, Section 9 Mechanical Property Requirements, and Section 2 References. Additions, deletions, changes, and reorganizations are shown in red.
