Rationale

ASTM F1166, Standard Practice for Human Engineering Design for Marine Systems, Equipment, and Facilities went through major revisions and was successfully balloted for reapproval in 2021. Since then several references and figures have been updated for clarity, as well as incorporation of language and addition of an Appendix to address Coefficient of Friction (COF) concerns for walking surfaces, stairs, and ramps.
