This test method allows for the determination and concentration of pesticides in cannabis. The method includes a subset of GC amenable pesticides that are of the most concern or are most likely to be used on cannabis (Health Canada Pesticide Active Ingredients List and Limits). The method follows the generic sequence of solvent extraction, followed by dispersive solid-phase extraction cleanup and analysis of GC-MS/MS amenable pesticides by gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS). Spiking was performed at concentration levels over the range of 0.005 to 2 ppm in cannabis with the Health Canada limits of quantitation achieved for 17 pesticides.
