Technimark is a world-class manufacturing partner specializing in precision injection molding, complex assembly, and contract manufacturing. Technimark leverages technology and ingenuity to make products that improve life, reduce risk, and speed products to the global market.
At the core of every high-performing plastic component is the right material, and finding that perfect match is where Technimark’s Material Science team excels. The team partners with customers to select, source, and engineer materials that meet the most demanding performance, regulatory, and sustainability requirements – using ASTM International standards. Whether customers are looking for bio-based, medical-grades, high-performance, or recycled resins, our material experts guide our customers through the complexity to deliver the best-fit solution. And ASTM standards allow for the direct comparison of mechanical, rheological, impact, and chemical resistance of different materials.
To meet sustainability and recycling requirements, Technimark’s Wellmark Plastics division offers resins produced from large-scale, mechanically recycled, post-consumer and post-industrial plastic waste. Recycling enables Technimark to produce custom formulations of recycled/circular resins for customers. Wellmark Plastics provides a full-circle recycling program while ensuring quality, safety, and reduced risk. ASTM standards provide guidance for identifying contamination (D5577); in process rheology testing (D1238); final product mechanical property testing (D3641, D792, D638, D790, D256); and others as required by customers or applications.
Technimark is also a global leader in designing, engineering, and manufacturing high-precision injection molds through our Accuchrome division. Building molds to the most stringent standards takes unmatched insight and extensive real-world experience. Our team leverages our experience, along with ASTM standards, to assist our customers by designing and building tools that meet each program’s unique specifications, budgets, and lead times.
Whether our customers need help creating a new product or optimizing an existing one, our experts will ideate, iterate, and create alongside. At our ideation workshops, we bring our customers’ ideas to life. We will collaborate with the customer team to generate and refine creative ideas, foster innovation, align shared goals, and create a roadmap for the project’s success.
We will create products that prioritize user experience and ergonomics while enhancing market appeal and performance. Our advanced additive manufacturing lab allows us to quickly test, iterate, and refine designs, reducing development time and cost while incorporating ASTM standards such as: F2971; ISO/ASTM 52902; 52910; and 52920 to establish quality guidelines. Medical customers have also utilized Technimark’s 3D printing laboratory to manufacture components of their devices.
Advanced engineering is part of Technimark’s culture. Through the design process, the design and engineering teams create detailed 3D models analyzing critical mechanical performance properties such as stress (D638); environmental stress cracking (D1693); impact strength (D2463, D4272); and viscosity (D1238). Designs are verified using ASTM standards such as accelerated aging (D5870 and F1980 when considering sterile barrier systems and medical devices). Additional testing is completed as necessary including application-specific and customer shipment tests. Our product design and recycling experience has been inputted into a working group in the committee on sustainability as part of the subcommittee on sustainable healthcare (E60.42), tasked with creating standard guidelines when designing single-use healthcare products or packaging.
From real-time process monitoring in manufacturing to the most advanced vision inspection with integrated AI, Technimark ensures superior quality from start to finish. Establishing controls, monitoring processes, and utilizing various tools such as Lean Six Sigma methodologies, predictive measurement, and ASTM standards support our best-in-class quality systems and culture.
ASTM standards provide a framework for success to evaluate a product’s performance under realistic conditions. Utilizing the right tools to understand testing, requirements, and success are key to establishing best business practices. ●
