Jun Sasaki, a current member of the ASTM International Board of Directors, represented ASTM at a meeting of the Japan Standards Association on October 6. Sasaki is general manager of the Control Research Laboratory at the Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. in Futtsu, Japan. At the meeting Sasaki presented an overview of ASTM International, with an emphasis on the relevance of ASTM standards to Japanese industry. Sasaki notes that the audience of about 80 people enthusiastically received his presentation.
