In November 2016, ASTM International’s Leonard Morrissey led a panel discussion on aligning technical standards on consumer health and safety for the benefit of both manufacturers and consumers in Brussels, Belgium. The panel discussed both a variety of approaches to global standards alignment. The panel event was part of the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization International Symposium.
Sara Gobbi, ASTM International’s Brussels Representative stressed the significance of the event, noting “ASTM International continues to support consumer safety through its standards and through participation in major events like this. The manufacturers and consumer advocacy organizations at the symposium and on the panel reflect the significance of ASTM standards in Europe and around the world.”
