ASTM held its second emerging professionals pilot program during the November 2016 committee week. The objective of the program is to create new opportunities with longtime benefits for new ASTM members who have demonstrated the potential to be industry and committee leaders.
Prior to the November meeting, committees that would be attending were given an opportunity to nominate a candidate who has shown an interest in becoming more active in specific ASTM committee work.
Selected candidates participated in the technical committee meetings and attended a special emerging professionals workshop held on November 15th at the committee week in Orlando. The program provided a comprehensive introduction to ASTM and the development process, as well as helped to establish a network of ASTM staff and technical committee members that will help launch the candidates’ future involvement.
The following candidates participated in the November emerging professionals program::
In addition to the nominated professionals visiting standards experts from the Dominican Republic, Mauritius, and South Korea also participated in the program.
