Rationale

The current version of D4294-24 contains some awkward language and utilizes some statistically incorrect guidance. Similar language was recently addressed in revisions to another X-ray test method under D02.03 jurisdiction (D2622). As previously discussed in subcommittee D02.03 on Elemental Analysis, these proposed D4294 revisions seek to harmonize the two widely used standard test methods.
