Rationale

A960/960M-25a provides common requirements for wrought steel piping fittings including those used for pressure vessel and piping applications in elevated/high temperature service, e.g., A234/A234M-25. This revision of A960/960M is to provide necessary changes to guidance and rules for use of creep strength enhanced ferritic (CSEF) steels. CSEF steels are typically used in the high temperature time-dependent regime where creep damage accumulation is a concern. Suggested changes include, but are not limited to: those related to weld repair activities, ASME code references, and Supplemental Requirements for use when referenced by A234/A234M in the fabrication or manufacture of ASME B16 Fittings intended for ASME BPVC high temperature applications.
