ASTM WK98546
Several users of the tongue tear test method (including myself) have complained that the method does not work on certain types of fabrics, such as knitted designs, due to roping, side tears and delamination. It was requested to modify the method to address when this occurs. The primary change then is to indicate what to do when a specimen cannot be tested with the method, allowing for the test to be rated “unsuitable” for the fabric. No other substantive changes were made.
