Rationale

Revisions to Section 8 of the standard concerning the preparation of the sample are being proposed. The draft revisions attempt to limit the size consist variations of the minus No. 40 prepared sample by establishing required percent recoveries of No. 40 by No. 140 material as well as excluding the minus No. 140 sieve size material. A new ILS will be required to be performed establishing new precision and bias statments for the method.
