Rationale

F3746 (originally published in 2025) is the new standard for maintenance manuals for light sport category aircraft. It was split out from the previous F2483 standard that has served as a manufacturer maintenance program and maintenance manual program for many years. F3746 is completely focused on the maintenance manual while F2483 will continue with the requirements for the manufacturer’s maintenance program as it was before. The original development of this standard was focused on this splitting process from F2483. However, there are still a few refinements and corrections that this standard needs to be ready to fully serve as a means of compliance to the new MOSAIC rule.
