Prior Ballot B07 (23-01) Item 007 for WK84806 Reapproval of B557M received a comment from Atsushi Ogawa regarding how ASTM E8/E8M should be referenced. According to the Form and Style for ASTM Standards April 2023 (Bluebook) G22.2 States “Any reference to a combined standard shall include the entire designation, for example, Specification A36/A36M. When only one system of units is applicable, this may be indicated where the reference is cited; for example: This material shall conform to the general requirements stated in SI units of Specification A36/A36M.” Since B557M is not a combined standard, the rule above applies and this will be addressed in this work item.
