Rationale

When complaints regarding the color and appearance of completed masonry occur, in many cases, the perceived discoloration of brick is due to excess moisture that has not yet evaporated from the masonry construction. Due to schedule constraints common on projects, it was desirable to have language in the standard to describe this condition and to caution users against rushed remedial actions that could compound the issue once moisture evaporates.
