WK97732 ASTM F3261a Commercial Equivalence alternative path Rationale: Over four years ago Dale Tucker brought a request to ASTM F06 seeking an alternate path to Commercial equivalence; other than having a 20 mil wear layer. Recently testing has been performed on several products that included both products having a 20 mil wear layer as well as other that were considered hybrid products(one’s that did not have a 30 mil wear layer but had features which manufacturers felt provided Commercial rated performance.)The products were tested for Abrasion per ISO 24338 Procedure A, Cross hatch adhesion per ASTM D3359 and for Large Ball impact per NALFA LF01. Based on that testing this Subcommittee ballot proposes an alternate path for Commercial equivalence for products that do not have a 20 mil wear layer; provided they meet all the standard specification requirements, as well as the requirements developed for these three additional properties: Proposed requirements as alternate path for Commercial equivalency: Abrasion AC Wear Resistance > 4000 revolutions Cross Hatch Adhesion > 4 B Large Ball Impact > 55 in(1400 mm) Only the highlighted portions of section 2, sections 4.12, sections 8.10 – 8.12, the applicable portion of Table 2 and Annex A1 are part of this Subcommittee ballot action
