Rationale

The general definition of the term “reference thermometer” received no negatives in the last Main/Sub ballot; thus, it will appear in the next printing of E344. However, there were several comments received for that ballot item, and those were discussed in detail at the November E20.91 meeting. The comments are substantially more than editorial in nature. The consensus at the meeting was to incorporate the suggested changes in a new, revised definition.
