This standard is being balloted for withdrawal with no replacement because there is no research report in support of the published precision statement. Also, the apparatus is is a sole apparatus which has not been available from the supplier for decades. The Sub-Committee has been working with SAE G12 on replacing D1747 in AMS1424 and 1228M (Product Specifications for Aircraft anti-icing fluids) with D1218.
