ASTM WK97246
The original purpose of this ballot was to remove a pointer to the 1926 OSHA standard as ASTM is now an international standard and OSHA is a U.S. regulation. Once the OSHA removal was balloted we received negative comments that there is value in maintaining OSHA in this standard due to the detailed guidance it provides. This updated ballot provides an alternative to OSHA, “or another accepted equivalent standard,” for those who do not want to follow this U.S. standard. The “accepted equivalent standard” language is published in other sections, so we went with that language.
