Rationale

Section 16.1 of standard A335 states the following: “In addition to the marking prescribed in Specification A999/A999M, the marking shall include…an additional symbol “S”, if the pipe conforms to any of the Supplementary Requirements S1 to S6…”. However, the Standard contains nine supplementary requirements. To be more precise, it is proposed to include the supplementary requirement number as well as the letter “S” in the product marking requirements and remove the limitation to only supplementary requirements 1 through 6. This was discussed at the A01.10 meeting on 11/13/25 and the attendees at the meeting agreed to pursue this revision. In addition, this approach is consistent with a recent WK (WK94901) that similarly revises standard A106 to include the SR number in the marking of the pipe.
