Rationale: During Q3 & Q4 of 2018 a task force formed in D02.04.0F organized and executed a 16 lab x 22 sample interlaboratory study (ILS-1542) needed to revise D7608-12. The work led to the current active test method D7806-20 for Determination of Biodiesel (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester) and Triglyceride Content in Diesel Fuel Oil Using Mid-Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR Transmission Method). The research report is attached. The method has a range and precision very similar to the current D396 referee test method D7371 and applies to diesel samples with biodiesel concentrations from 3?% to 40?% by volume.
