Rationale

Table 1-Typical ASTM Specifications for Min/Max Values of Some Insulation Materials Used for Industrial Applications currently listed in C1696 is outdated and insulation information changes regularly. An insulation table is currently being published, reviewed and updated on a regular basis by NIA (National Insulation Association), reference name: NIA-TIC-101, "Insulation Materials Specification Chart from NIA". NIA has approved ASTM C1696 to reference their Insulation Materials Specification Chart within C1696. This concurrent ballot will only be for removal of Table 1 entirely in C1696 and reference NIA Insulation Materials Specification Chart (NIA-TIC-101).
