ASTM WK96483
Despite the existence of such requirements, there remains a lack of clear industry guidance regarding acceptable methods of compliance, particularly with respect to fuel system performance when exposed to water contamination and conditions associated with the formation of ice on aircraft components. Key aspects such as water dropout mechanisms, ice accretion, and the release of ice into the engine feed system are not yet fully characterized, potentially leading to flow restrictions, power loss, or flameout events. Providing clear guidance would help standardize compliance approaches and improve safety assurance.
