Rationale

At the ASTM C13 Meeting in September of 2023, a Task Group was assigned make an adjustment to the C1131 standard to try to reduce the potential confusion from life cycle assessment (LCA) related to the surge in societal focus on environmental impact versus life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) related to the economic evaluation of concrete pipe. At that meeting, all present agreed to ballot a Title change only for the review and renewal Ballot that is due. The Sub Committee members present and the Task Group have all agreed to the proposed title change.
