Rationale

For anti-tip devices to effectively restrain clothing storage units from tipping over, they must make a secure connection to the wall and the unit. ATD’s must be attached to a structurally sound location(s) on the furniture. Appropriate locations for attachment should be indicated by a mark or line on the unit by the furniture manufacturer to help consumers understand where to attach the ATD. In addition, written instructions that accompany the unit or the ATD should indicate to the consumer where to attach the ATD referencing the makings on the unit.
