Rationale

Currently some bars are processed after the initial testing performed by the manufacturer (mill certification). Secondary processes such as cold rolling threads can affect the mechanical (tensile) properties shown on the initial mill certification. This ballot item proposes to add requirement for bars that have undergone processing after the initial testing, referred to below as Secondary Processing. Similar to ASTM F3125/F3125M – 23.
