New Practice for Preparation and Verification of Aqueous Radionuclide Working Standards
1. Scope
This practice describes procedures for quantitative dilution of radionuclide standard solutions at a laboratory to obtain working solutions of known massic and volumic activities with propagated uncertainties. It also describes the verification of the resulting solutions to confirm their calculated activities.
Keywords
radiochemistry; working standards; radionuclide
Rationale
The standard will promote best practices for preparation and verification of radionuclide working standards, which it seems are not currently well publicized. The primary users will be radiochemists, and especially standards/QA chemists, at radiochemistry laboratories.
