Rationale: This ballot is to add a procedure B for automated instruments within the method. This addition is balloted with preliminary repeatability precision only. A full ILS to determine repeatability, Reproducibility, and bias would need be required in the future, if the automated procedure ballot passes both sub-committee and main committee ballots. Automated instruments are currently being manufactured by 2 manufacturers, and in use by multiple laboratories worldwide.
