Rationale

This ballot item concerns two aspects of Standard A106. Issue 1: Supplementary Requirement S7 references the tensile requirements presented in Table 1. Table 1 relates to chemical analysis. The reference should be to Table 2 – “Tensile Requirements”. Issue 2: Section 25.1 of “Product Marking” states that when a supplementary requirement applies the pipe is to be marked with the letter “S”. The Standard contains nine supplementary requirements. To be more precise, it is proposed to include the supplementary requirement number as well as the letter “S” in the product marking requirements.
