Rational for revision This ballot is proposed to clarify the A4.8 Apparatus Verification procedure and acceptance criteria to align as instructed in the manufacturer’s documentation where more detail can be provided. It should also be noted that the reference tubes are not used for calibration, only for verification of the instrument. A motion to ballot revision of D3241 was approved at the ASTM Subcommittee J meetings in Anaheim, CA, in December 2024.
