Rationale

Rational for revision Analysis of D3241 data collected on Jet A/A-1 produced from 2022-2024 indicated that the vast majority of fuels test at 1 or <40 nm at production and that a higher rating at production could result in an off specification reading downstream. The elevated reading (i.e. <2 - <3 via VTR and/or 40 - 85 nm via metrology) is technically in specification but unusual within the population of jet fuel data. To alert users, a note is proposed in Section X1.3 of the nonmandatory Appendix. Supporting data is provided in the attached presentation.
