ASTM WK94710
Revision of A576-23 Standard Specification for Steel Bars, Carbon, Hot-Wrought, Special Quality
Rationale
The previous A01 25-02 item 24 ballot had proposed changes in A576 Section 8 Certification and Test Reports to give clear guidance on the reporting of some elements commonly specified by the purchaser- specifically aluminum, boron, titanium, and nitrogen. The ballot had specified the reporting of boron to three decimal places. In the case of boron, customers typically specify boron to four decimal places. As such, the original ballot needs to be re-balloted. This desired language is similar to existing language found in the A920 Standard Specification for Steel Bars Microalloy, Hot Wrought, Special Quality, Mechanical Properties which specifies such reporting. Only the red underlined text (indicating edits) is up for ballot. All non-edited text is included for context purposes only.
