Rationale

The proposed changes clarify the submersion and cycling requirements. Additionally the term ‘EIFS with water resistive barrier coating’ is an outdated term that is being replaced with the term ‘EIFS with Drainage’ for consistency with current terminology in the industry, Building Codes and other ASTM Standards. Additionally the term EIFS with Drainage is being added to the title for consistency with Scope Section 1.1. This item has been previously balloted (E6.58 (24 02) and E6.58 (25 02)) and includes changes based on persuasive negatives and comments. This latest ballot includes changes based on a persuasive negative and comments in Ballot E06 (25-02) item 021 as discussed at the 10/7/25 E658 subcommittee meeting.
