ASTM WK94157

Revision of F2790-10(2019)e1 Standard Practice for Static and Dynamic Characterization of Motion Preserving Lumbar Total Facet Prostheses

Rationale

The purpose for this revision is to 1) change the precision of force or moment fatigue loads between runout and failure (from "within 10% of ultimate" to "not greater than 1.25x the highest runout" in order to harmonize with other spinal implant fatigue test methods, 2) add static yield load or moment data in the results to report, 3) generalize testing parameters to accommodate implant designs which cannot be tested according to those described in the previous version of the standard, and 3) remove references to withdrawn standards.
