Rationale

Based on the feedback received through F1447 balloting and discussions a consensus developed to change the peak linear acceleration acceptance criteria for our bicycle helmet standards to 275g. This value addresses concerns about cost vs benefits while still reducing the forces applied to the head during a helmeted head impact. ASTM published the change in F1447-24. This ballot would make the same change in F1898-22.
