Rationale

This standard was revised in 2023 as a result of the 5 year review, and at that time fully dense, hot-deformed NdFeB magnets were included in this standard. During the main committee ballot, there was a negative vote with comments to include more classifications and to modify some data in the appendix tables for the hot-deformed NdFeB magnets. Although this negative vote was withdrawn in order to pass the revision without risking the automatic withdrawal of the standard at that time, it is appropriate to include more, commercially available classifications and to correct the data in the tables to better serve the industry.
