Rationale

The specification imposes mandatory etching of all surfaces for rolled rings and die forgings for visual inspection. The proposal is to allow liquid penetrant testing as an alternative due to increasing challenges to find sources that will provide the etching. Appendices 1 and 2 need to brought into compliance with the B07 checklist for content. The reference list will also be reviewed.
