Rationale

During the June 2024 meetings there was a discussion of a comment in a closed ballot related to the colloquial term “octane” where it is used as the concept of “octane requirements of an engine”, as “octane” actually means a C-8 hydrocarbon. It was agreed to harmonize the term correctly with existing motor octane testing and ballot the correction.
