Section 23.3 negates a hardness test "For tubes less than 0.065 in. [1.7 mm] in wall thickness, the hardness test shall not be required." Based on Annex 5 of E18, materials thinner than 0.065" may be tested for hardness on an appropriate Rockwell Superficial Scale.
