This standard is being balloted for withdrawal with no replacement because the standard is cumbersome and the formula listed in the standard is outdated and incorrect. The correct formula (using Pb, Gb, Gse and Gsb) can be found in numerous textbooks and online so defining it in ASTM is redundant.
