New Practice for Standard Practice for Locating, Calibrating and Validating an In-Line Digital Imaging Analyzer for Liquid Hydrocarbons and Solids in Water Streams
1. Scope
This practice details a procedure to follow in order to properly install a digital imaging analyzer (DIA) in a process line, and to calibrate and validate results from the in-line DIA by comparison and correlation to off-line analysis methods. The method pertains to detection of hydrocarbons and solid contaminants in water streams in concentrations ranging from 1 to 5000 ug/L. The off-line comparative methods must be capable of this same range of analysis.
Keywords
Droplet; Size Distribution
Rationale
A simple procedure is needed to verify the measurement of oils and solids in water as measured by Digital Imaging Analyzers. This practice describes a procedure which can accomplish this task across a wide range of concentrations.
