There is no standard specification in the industry for establishing the minimum requirements of mechanically fastened railless attachment components to secure ancillary equipment to metal roofs. Railless metal roof attachment systems have become more and more popular, serving a critical function to secure equipment under a variety of live loading conditions such as wind in HVHZ (High Velocity Hurricane Zones) and high snow accumulation areas. This standard specification will fill the existing gap in the industry providing minimum requirements that may be utilized by Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), Architects, Specifiers, and Installers, and supplied by metal roof attachment manufacturers’, to use mechanically fastened railless attachments to connect metal roof ancillary equipment in a safe manner.
