ASTM WK84158
Conventional flash point methods do always show an open flame when a flash point is detected, and a test start temperature that is too high for a flash point test can cause an explosion and fire hazard. This advanced method addresses these issues since a continuously closed cup flash point design is intrinsically safe since an open flame is never present during the test. This feature of a MCCFP based test is especially important for determining the flash point of many liquid wastes since the flash point of these materials is frequently unknown.
